JenningsBet Poker

Rating: 6.5
JenningsBet Poker

UK’s largest independent bookmaker

JenningsBet Poker is the online poker offering from the UK’s largest independent bookmaker. It is an established name with a long history in bookmaking and offers a great value Welcome Bonus. However, the lack of a browser or mobile client, no rakeback and disappointing customer support lets it down.

However, it’s welcome bonus is one of the best on the network, so if you are looking for a new MPN skin at which to signup and clear the deposit bonus, then Jennings Poker is an excellent choice.

  • Good Value Bonus - 100% up to $100
  • Long History Within UK Bookmaking Industry
  • Clear And Easy To Use Website & Software
  • Licensed In Isle Of Man

About JenningsBet

JenningsBet‘s primary interest is its sports book business. Currently the company operates as the UK’s largest independent bookmaker. It is also the oldest, having been founded in 1961 when betting was first legalised in the UK. JenningsBet was started by the same family who founded Joe Jennings Bookmakers, although they now operate as separate companies despite keeping strong ties. JenningsBet Poker is part of the company’s online package which is licensed by the Isle of Man and operates as a skin on MPN, with software provided by MicroGaming.

This guide will take you through everything you need to know about JenningsBet Poker. Here you can find out about what sets this MPN site apart from others on the network, including how trusted it is. As a new player on the site you can see what bonus offers are available to you, and find out the details of the loyalty program.

Website and Software, the Look of JenningsBet Poker

The JenningsBet poker website has a very familiar feel too it. The layout uses the same template as the old page of a major Isle of Man-based poker site, yet the green and yellow colours of JenningsBet fit it well and it looks like a professional site.

The homepage is easy to navigate, with tabs that can take you to the other online game types and clearly labelled links to get you to areas explaining the poker room. The main image on the page is dominated by the Download Now button, although there is no Instant Play browser option you find on many MPN sites. The other images on display all feature poker promotions with the exception of a small casino ad.

Is JenningsBet A Trusted Brand?

While there appears to be no issues of concern about the integrity of JenningsBet Poker, there are two incidents which flag up regarding other branches of the company.

The first is an incident regarding a casino pay-out being withheld and JenningsBet refusing to discuss details with a 3rd party, self-proclaimed, mediatory website. This appears to be an isolated incident and for all anyone knows the player could be in breach of terms and conditions. JenningsBet’s refusal to talk to a 3rd party site does come up a lot in searches as cause for concern, although many poker sites have the same policy and in my view this is a good thing to keep player privacy.

The second incident was more public. This was when horse racing trainer Barney Curley executed a well-publicised betting coup in 2012. By taking advantage of the handicap system in the UK, Curley and his team were able to put big money on their horses at high odds in accumulator bets. While this was perfectly legal, albeit ethically questionable, JenningsBet refused to pay out £30,000 in winnings. Again this is an isolated incident, however this time it is clear JenningsBet were at fault.

JenningsBet Mobile Platform

This site does not currently provide a mobile app for its poker client.

New Player Welcome Bonuses

JenningsBet offers to new players a 100% match on initial deposit up to €100. In order to gain the bonus you must first deposit between €20 and €100 then as you play you will gain loyalty points. To unlock you bonus you need to gain 15x the bonus amount in loyalty points, so to unlock the full €100 bonus you would have to gain 1500 loyalty points.

The bonus is not released in increments, instead you have to clear the full amount of points needed inside 30 days in order to release the full bonus. If you fail to do so you are able to attempt to clear it in another 30 days although only half the amount is paid.

With the rate of 10 loyalty points for €1 raked, you would have to spend €150 in rake, giving you the equivalent rakeback of 66%.

Loyalty Points

As you play on JenningsBet Poker you accumulate Loyalty Points. JenningsBet does not provide rakeback or a system where these points can be exchanged for cash, although they can be used for tournament buy-ins.

Loyalty points are gained at a rate of 10 for every €1 spent in tournament fees. This also equates to roughly 10 points per €1 spent in cash game rake. Loyalty point pay outs also vary depending on the exchange rate between the dollar and euro. This is not even close to the standard 30% deal offered by other MPN skins.

Deposit Methods

Surprisingly there is no deposit information listed in the poker area or the casino section, although a tiny link can be found on the sports book page. Despite this, JenningsBet allows you to use a wide range of methods to get your money on and your profits off.

The preferred method for most players is to deposit with a credit or debit card. Both Visa and MasterCard are accepted, although you may have issues withdrawing to these so alternatives such as bank wires, eWallets or paper checks will be needed.

Support That You Can Post a Letter To

JenningsBet support can be contacted via email or post. Their support page claims you can receive a reply within the hour from 9am – 5pm, within 2 hours from 5pm – 10.30pm and within 10 hours from 10.30pm – 9am. As this is a UK firm it is assumed these times are GMT.

While it is disappointing not to see 24hr support you can at least say JenningsBet have targets to aim for to keep customers happy. Unfortunately after waiting all day and having sent two emails I have gone a day without a reply from 9am query.

I may be tempted to try the fast track route of sending a paper letter…

Summing It Up – Should You Choose JenningsBet?

JenningsBet is an established name among UK bookmakers and their poker offerings have not raised negative reports. While they appear very professional, the lack of contact from support is very disappointing as is the lack of a Live Chat option.

The Welcome Bonus of €100 provides great value, and is possible to clear for anyone who plays frequently. If you take more than 30 days to clear it then having it half in value seems a bit mean, especially when other MPN sites allow 60 days for bonus clearing. Equally only being able to use Loyalty Points for tournament entries rather than cash rewards is more restrictive than other sites.

The lack of 30% rakeback will be the deciding factor for most players. If you play any kind of serious volume there are much better deals available elsewhere.
