PAF Poker Review

Not-for-profit organisation based in Finland

PAF is a not-for-profit organisation that has a history of land-based casino operations and was an early adopter of online gaming. Their online poker room was launched in the 2000s.

PAF boasts an excellent reputation and players benefit from a well-designed website and fast, efficient customer support. The company’s ethics are highly admirable; however there is lack of value for players on the site.

  •  Quick, Friendly And Useful Customer Support
  • Great Clean-looking Website (Crisp and Clean Design)
  •  Instant Play Browser Client – Works on Android Devices
  • Company Profits Support Charitable Causes

About PAF Poker

PAF is a not-for-profit organisation that is based in the Åland Islands between Finland and Sweden. The company has existed since 1966, operating land-based gambling and slot machines, with all profits going toward charitable causes. In 1990 the company was an early adopter of online gaming, a trend which expanded in the 2000s with the launch of their online poker room. For a long time the company was the only legal operator in Finland. PAF now operate two separate rooms, one on the OnGame network and the other on MPN.

This guide will tell you everything you need to get started playing in PAF’s MPN room. The first impressions of the site are covered, showing you what you will find when landing on the site, before looking at PAF’s reputation as a trustworthy site. You can find out what new players will be entitled to, before looking at the deposit options available and what type of response to expect of their customer support

PAF’s Clean Looking Hub

PAF’s website really is a portal into all their games. The look of the site has a crisp and clean pale look. The pale green and white colours of the site merges seamlessly with various screen shots, images and videos. Each section from slots to poker is easily accessible through tabs on the top of the page.

When you go onto the poker offerings you can find the MPN site under ‘Heart’ Poker. There are a variety of offers advertised including ‘campaigns’, bad beat jackpots and exclusive competitions. Next to screenshots of the site you have the option to either download the client or play in the browser.

PAF’s Excellent Reputation

As you can expect from a site that openly donates all its income to charity, PAF has remained a very trusted operator within the poker community. There has been very little said negatively about the site online.

PAF goes to more lengths than most to ensure they remain untouched by controversy. Before you even open their poker software you will need to register your account and send them your ID details. While this may be a pain for some, it shows PAF doing everything they can to adhere fully to the rules.

Play on PAF on a Mobile Device

Although there is no mobile app at present for Apple users, those with an Android devices are able to play via the Instant Play option in their browser. There are currently plans to launch an app although the timeline is uncertain.

Freerolls for New Players on PAF

While PAF poker has a sign up bonus for its OnGame skin there is not an offer on their MPN site. This is disappointing when you consider what the other operators are providing on the same network. Further disappointment is felt when its realised there is no rakeback on offer either or loyalty points to be gained.

They do provide new players with six weeks’ worth of entries to a €500 Freeroll that runs every Wednesday and the ability to enter a €1.10 tournament afterwards guaranteeing a €500 prize fund.

Not offering a bonus or rakeback is a serious black mark against the site. If you have the opportunity to play on other MPN sites you will be losing out here. It appears the majority of PAF promotions are on their OnGame skin.

Ways to Get You Money on to PAF and your Profits Out

At the bottom of PAF’s website you can clearly see all the deposit options.

PAF accepts both Visa and MasterCard transactions which will probably be the easiest option for most. Your account can be credited quickly and easily with minimal fuss. When withdrawing you may find certain cards do not accept transfers back onto them so you may need to request a cheque be sent.

Skrill, previously known as Moneybookers, operate a trusted e-wallet. These are services which allow you to only enter your details once, then transfer fund over the internet using them rather than your personal details. This will allow you to deposit and withdraw from PAF for free.

If neither of these appeal to you, there is the option to deposit and withdraw via Deutsche Bank or use a prepaid voucher like Paysafecard.

Fast Support at PAF

There are two ways to get in touch with PAF, via the telephone or email. The number and address is listed at the bottom left of the webpage. There are opening times of 0800 – 2300 GMT so there will be no one available to help you out of hours.

After sending an email query I was pleasantly surprised to see a written reply back in only a few minutes. Considering I was asking about the bonuses which do not exist, the reply was well thought out and informative.

In Summary – PAF Players Deserve More

I want to like PAF. I admire their work, I like the look and professional feel of their webpages and there support was excellent. Unfortunately there is no value on the site for new sign ups or existing players who would be missing out on bonuses and rakeback deals. Even if there were promotions running to offer players chance to play live I would give it a go, although these are just on their other site.
